Cycle-Powered Cinema
For the launch of Hinterland 2009, Annexinema, will be working alongside The Magificent Revolution to construct a ‘Cycle Powered Cinema’. Annexinema have curated a programme of artists films and performances that combine works by local upcoming artists with internationally recognised figures and influential historical art works. This event will feature John Cage, Margaret Tait, Fernando Sanchez, John Smith, Mischa Leinkauf & Matthias Wermke, Chris Marker, John Chapman & Frank Simeone, Ben Rivers, George Barber, Emily Richardson, Matt Hulse & Joost Van Veen plus live music from Zelig.
No booking is required for this event, but we recommend you get there by 8pm to see all the films.
(The event will be preceeded by a foraging walk and a talk by artist Rebecca Beinart.)

The Magnificent Revolution are a not-for-profit collective. The group have been part of many major public events including recently the Big Chill, and the Thessaloniki Film Festival. The collective is made up of artist, musicians, designers, eco builders, ecologists, and engineers. Their pedal powered cinema system uses 10 bikes and 20 legs to power 600W of audio visual equipment for screening films or projections. Using their ingenius interactive feedback system, they will inform cyclists and the audience about how much power they’re generating. When the energy supply is running low i.e. people aren’t pedalling hard enough, LED lighting kicks in and the ambient light changes colour.

HOW DO I GET THERE?
Hinterland recommends that you attend this event by foot or on your bike. There is a local bus route, and we'd prefer it if you didn't bring your car along. If you have any disability requirements, please call us to make special arrangements.
BY BIKE
The best way to access the site is via the Toll Bridge at Wilford, as if you were going to the Ferry Inn. Cycle through the village on Main Road, past the Boots Alms houses (LHS) and the Church Hall (RHS) and back on to the cycle path after following the flood defences on the B bank and the bowling green, you will reach the correct side of the bridge in under 10 mins.
